It's bad folks , it's real bad.......
Organize your clubs and friends, neighbors, etc., ask them to start
doing the following. Get a box or two or three, go thru your house
and start collecting the following; (Place like items in the same
box like food in one, bedding in another and so on)
Water (Do not put in the box. Cases of bottled water, 20 fl oz
plus, set aside)
Canned meat and other canned nonperishable foods
Peanut Butter (lots of peanut butter)
Diapers (Baby bottles, toys, books)
Towels (Used and worn are fine as long as they are clean)
Bedding of any kind
Clothing (socks, t-shirts, old jeans, etc)
Cash (Doesen't matter how much or how little, just whatever you can spare)
Mark the boxes with the items they contain and seal with tape. We
will organize collection points once more information is obtained.
The authorities have asked that we do not pile into cars and head
that way, even to Houston. I know we all want to help and the best
thing we can do is to start stock piling the much needed supplies
listed above. They will be needed !!

S&B:
It has never failed to happen.
In times of "need" any type of need, the biker community of Texas has
come to help.
Anyone, anytime... Texas Bikers join together to ensure that enough
money, food, clothing, toys and more than anything, HOPE is given to
those who have little or none.
Although I can't ride any more, I still read this S&B newsletter.
Each time I see the names of people I have met throughout the
years...still riding tall to help "people" in need. I see your faces,
as we cross lanes, holding our hands out to say hello, brother/sister.
To S&B, and all the riders who read this incredible newsletter, my
prayers and blessings go out to each and every one of you.
You have never needed a reason to ride, but, because of who you are
inside, choose to do so. I was honored to be among you.

Biloxi Blues - For real this time
Date: 9/1/2005
From: robert@bikers-stuff.com
I am down in Biloxi, my home town, and trying to get in to check on my
parents and family. I evacuated when the storm approached, they did
not. The pictures do not do anything to show how horrible this is.
There are injured people everywhere and tens of thousands of people
with no where to go and no way to leave.
I've heard the news people and others say why didn't these people
leave. What's wrong with them? I stayed on the coast during Camille,
now after Katrina the second worst hurricane. When you live 5 or six
miles inland, you feel that the only thing you have to worry about is
tornados and wind damage. When all of a sudden the seas double what
they were predicted to do and now you have water 6 to 8 miles inland,
well you're screwed and you loose everything. Your house, car, food,
water, clothes, and sometimes even your life. This thing was way
bigger then expected.
If you can not give money, give blood or something to help and give
it now. If you donate cash, please mark it as for the hurricane
relief.
This is an American tragedy and we really need to help if we can.
Most of these people are very hard working Americans and have always
helped other areas in time of need. Mississippi doesn't even have
enough National Guard to help because they have the highest
percentage of troops in Iraq of all the nations Guard units.
Anything you can donate would greatly be appreciated by everyone here.

HI Jan,
I made a hurricane help page on our website and will be adding any
additional info to it as it comes in. I figure the more folks who can
spread the word the better.
Here's the page -
http://scootertramps.net/hurricane.html
It also lists all the 800 numbers for the emergency organizations at
the bottom. Everyone is welcome to copy/post/send any and all of this.

To all Texas Bikers and Friends:
The Texas Motorcycle Rights Assoication is providing an update of
places to go and places to stay for those who have lost their homes
in Louisana, Alabama, and Mississippi. We have been sent many
e-mails we are keeping from bikers who have land and/or are willing
to take in families for maybe months on end. Because of the great
need to help our southern brothers and sisters, I have started
"Operation take in a family".. If you are willing to take in even
one person, one family, even pets, until they can get back on their
feet, which maybe several months, we want to hear from you. We need
bikers and friends in Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio,
wherever. We need bikers who have land, ranches, camp grounds,
anywhere we can place people and have them fed and confortable after
going through this horrible ordeal.
You can contact me, Terri Williams, at 512-971-8777, or Sputnik at
512-971-6777. Our office number is 1-800-391-7608, or local Austin
area call 512-281-0537. my E-mail addresses are unseenpast@aol.com,
tmra2secretary.org or Sputnik's e-mail at chairman@tmra2.org.
We also need e-mail addresses and phones numbers sent for any biker
clubs and/or groups in these three states so we can get the word out
to them when their phones are working that we have places for them to
stay in the central Texas area.
We all know that if this happened to Texas, the people of Louisana
and surrounding states would take us in their homes IN A HEART BEAT.
We need to do the same for them!!!!!
Thank you
