| Chaparral: "I haven't had ANY problems getting ordered items through the mail, from them.. And the time is between 5 and 7 days..(working days, of course).. Their sales personnel are most courteous and helpful, their stock is plentiful and available and their prices are quite a bit cheaper than "ours" , here..I recommend "Chaparral" to anyone who likes to order by secure networks and reliable dealerships." Accessories: FWIW, I've ordered tires from CA on 4 different occasions in the past year and never had a problem. Delivery was always in about 5 working days or slightly less, and always received what I ordered. |
| Cycle-Parts.com I have ordered from Cycle-Parts.com three times now. The orders have arrived in St Louis in about 6 business days each time, shipped from Iowa. I got email notification of the shipments and a tracking number each time, so I could tell when they would arrive. In one case, I got a telephone message as well. One time I ordered a parts microfiche and got sent the wrong one. A phone call got me a replacement fiche with no hassles, and they said not to bother sending anything back. Cycle-parts.com has good prices on OEM parts, but they add a 10 to 15 percent shipping and handling fee to each order and have a $100 order minimum. I only used the portion of the site that gives best prices for parts specified by OEM part number, as I can get those numbers from my bike manufacturer's web site. The total price comes to a little less than local dealers, who don't stock parts and have about the same ordering delays. I feel that Cycle-Parts.com deserves 4 stars for competent service and a good web site, but not tremendously wonderful prices. Victor Back to List |
| Dennis Kirk: I've used Dennis Kirk for two tire purchases. They'll beat anyone else by a dollar, and the service I've received has been pretty good. Needed to change an order at 3 AM after realizing the late hour caused me to order the wrong tire. No problem getting that done. And they ship the tires in boxes, rather than just banding them. I don't know that there are really many advantages to that, but it makes me more comfortable. Only grip I've had about Dennis Kirk was when they failed to ship me a tire iron. The packer had marked it on the packing slip as sent, and so they didn't want to take my word for it. They said they had to check inventory. I never heard back from them and forgot all about it. Been months now... ======================== "I guess we forgot" Dennis Kirk is by far the worst on line retailer that I have ever worked with. I ordered metric tail lamps for a customer (before 6:00 CST) and paid 36.00 for overnight shipping. I even called to them to check on the order, and was told that I had nothing to worry about and the order would be at my dealer the next day by 10:30. The next day I checked the tracking number and found that it had not been shipped. I called them and got an unacceptable answer, oh well I guess we forgot to ship it for you. I canceled the order and will never order from them again. I also tell everyone I know and see not to order from them. Poor service, poorly trained staff, equals at least 75 orders not placed with them and I will keep this up forever. Doug in Delaware |
| Discount Tires: "I've always had good luck ordering from Discount Tires. They give good service and usually have what I want in stock." Christopher ======================== Service goes down hill: "Ordered two tires, delivery slow. Wanted to exchange one, they won't even return my calls. Discount motorcycle tires sucks. Can't recommend them!!" Dave ======================== I have bought tires from Discount Motorcycle Tires twice now. Their prices were among the lowest I found on the Net or locally. They delivered to St Louis within 5 days of my order in both cases, though the web site "Order Information" page was never updated so I never got warning of when the tires would arrive. Victor ======================== Ordered two tires, delivery slow. Wanted to exchange one, they would't even return my calls. This situation was eventually resolved. By the time the games were over the discount price had been used up via shipping charges. Live and learn. Discount motorcycle tires sucks. Can't recommend them!! Dave |

Accessory Warehouse: "Never had a problem with MAW till we ordered tires. A week after ordering we get a card saying that one of the tires are on backorder and they won't know for 2 more weeks about the order. I would have cancelled right then but they had already charged our credit card! We called on the date they gave us and are told they won't know if they'll have the tires for another 20 days! We ended up having to order different tires which cost us more. That is NOT the way to conduct business." Leonel ======================== "Went through the same BS with MAW once. I specifically asked if they had the tire in stock which the lady confirmed. A week later, still no tire. I call back and am informed that the tire is backordered and it will be another month before it comes in. I raise hell with 'em and of course get no where. I canceled my order and got the tire from Discount Motorcycle Tire in 3 days." Albert ======================== I ordered a winshield and mounts for my bike. When I received my order, I found they sent me the wrong mounts. I called customer service and they confirmed that they gave me the wrong ones, so I returned the mounts in the same box they came in. After a week of calling them they said the items were returned "damaged" and would not exchange or credit my credit card. Now I will have to deal with my credit card company not to pay them. A Rider ======================== I have bought several items from MAW, including a few nonreturnable "Closeout Specials" for very low prices. In each case the items arrived within a week or so of ordering, and the tracking info on the MAW web site told me when to expect them. In one case, I returned a pair of riding pants ordered at the regular price because an identical pair came up in closeouts for less than half price. I paid the restocking and shipping and bought the closeout pair but still came out way ahead. MAW gave me no trouble with this transaction, refunding the difference to my credit card. On another occasion I got a call from MAW that an item I ordered was unavailable and another item was backordered. I cancelled both items and got a credit card refund for both items and their portion of the total shipping and handling for the order. However, the "unavailable" item stayed on their web site for many weeks afterwards. Also, the closeouts page of their web site is frequently mangled and unreadable. I think MAW is a competently run business, though, and deserves 4 stars. Victor Return to List |
| Motorcycletireplanet: This company accepted my credit card money and said the tires were shipped through DHL. I called DHL they never received the tires to be shipped. I called the company in Ohio and they said the tires will be there in two days. DHL said the shipment had been pulled in Akron. I called again and got good news and bad news. The tires are on back order but will be there on Monday. Called Tuesday and they said Oh, the tires are still on back order. I cancelled my order. Why did they not just tell me up front the tires are on back order? Like Discount Motorcycle Tires in Colorado did. Monty M. ======================== Paid for my tires two months ago,
still nothing. I'm getting nothing but the run around and invalid tracking numbers
so far. I've been scammed. |
| New Enough: I have bought several items from New Enough Motorcycle Leather, including several "Closeout Specials" for verylow prices. In each case the items arrived within a week or so of ordering, and the tracking info on the newenough.com web site told me when to expect them. The shipping changes were fair and there was no handling fee. The web site is very informative and easy to navigate. In one case, I returned a pair of too-small gloves and got my money refunded instantly. I also bought a suit from them via Ebay auction, paid by credit card, and got it in St Louis in 3 days. They answer their email promptly and give excellent advice on fit, too. Victor Return to List |
| PartsNMore.com Honda, Yamaha, Kawa, Suzuki parts available. $30 minimum order. Have ordered 3 times from them, every order sent out correctly and on-time. Selection is a bit thin in a few areas, but overall they do ok. Free shipping always helps as well. Just about everything on that site is for UJM. PH |
| Riderhaus: I bought a luggage rack and crash bars from Riderhaus in Germany last year. It took about 3 months for the items to arrive, but I expected the delay from my communication with Bob and Laura Sims, the owners. My credit card was not charged for 2 months, when the items shipped, and I had them in St Louis less than a month later. I put the crash bars on my bike immediately and got my money's worth right away when the wind blew my bike over in the parking lot. I did not install the luggage rack until 6 months after I got it (9 months after the order) and then discovered that it had a manufacturing defect. Riderhaus sent me a replacement at no charge, based on digital photos I provided of the defect. The replacement arrived in less than one month. I did not have to ship the defective rack back to Germany. Despite the delays inherent in ordering from Germany, I think Riderhaus is a very consciencious business with first-rate service. Victor |
| Tire Express: On the 13th of May I spoke with Tire Express about a tire for my Goldwing, they checked on the availibility of the tire and told me it was in stock in Ohio and could be shipped to me in 3 or 4 days. I ordered the tire at 9:35 am, 13 May 2004, when I arrived home from work at 4:00 pm on 14 May 2004 the UPS truck had just dropped off my tire. I live 60 miles west of Chicago and was amazed by the quick and correct service. Great service....Norm Return to List |
