Louie showed up
about 11:00 a.m. and we left the house headed south on 16. We stopped at
Whataburger, then took Hwy 180 West to Caddo where we turned off onto Park Rd. 33 headed
north. Park Rd. 33 was written up in Tex Moto Magazine as a prime ride. It
surely is, with it's twists and turns. There's one particular left hander that
sweeps down into the valley that will get you excited. I will have to stop some time
and take pics of that area. It's awesome.
We stopped in for a few minutes at the Westside Welcome Center on FM 1148 and
shed our leathers as it was getting hot. Then we headed north on FM 1287 to
Graham and lunch at Sandersons Restaurant. Later, Joe and I gassed up at the Texaco
on 16S and then we headed for Rock Creek where we turned off 16 at the loop, drove under
the overpass and stopped at the roadside park.

| After a brief stay at the roadside park so Joe
could get some *shut eye* (LOL), we headed south again on 16 through Rock Creek Gap. Louie began snapping pics of us at this point. Just past
the gap, Hwy 16 veers off to the right and Hwy 337 continues to Graford and Mineral Wells.
We headed on in to Mineral Wells and stopped at Braums where we parted company with
Louie as he headed back to Ft. Worth and we headed back home. It was a great ride on
a gorgeous Fall day. Louie kept up with us fairly well. ;-) |
