Not counting the non-motorized wheeled kind, my first bike was a 1969
Yamaha DT1 250cc Enduro (now called dual purpose). I will never forget my first ride. My
brother bought the bike used in 71 and I kept asking him to let me ride it. One day he
asked if I knew how and I told him that a friend in school had been teaching me on his
Honda (a 90cc bike). This was partially true in that the friend had told me where the
controls were at least and I could repeat that to my brother to pass his test of my riding
knowledge. Then he gave me the key and away I went. Nearly killed myself three blocks
later trying to turn left onto the main street with traffic. Never did tell my brother
about that.
After that I had a 72 Suszki TS250 and a Kawasaki F11B 250, then moved up to 750 and
better.
94 saw me get my first of those non motorized non wheeled kind. Have had a couple of them
for my dirt "bikes" while I kept the street only motors to play with.
